4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Great guide for losing weight and keeping it off By AC One of my biggest struggles losing weight is that fact that I would sneak this here and there. It would totally derail my diet. Thanks to this book I have learnt how to avoid doing that, and I also learned I can still eat the foods I enjoy without feeling cheated. I thought I had to give up everything I enjoyed. This book is also packed with recipes that taste amazing are easy to make. I have successfully began losing weight I am down 2 lbs in a week .

They even give you some recipes to try and help you along your journey there are so many more out there you just have to look for them, I am eating foods I enjoy exercising and I am losing weight. I am very thrilled with my success.

By Happy Amazon Customer Wow. This book is powerfully useful and disturbing. The Hypothyroidism Diet made me realize that I must be certain to seek out natural sources of iodine in my diet. I didn't realize the connections between fatigue, normal thyroid function, adrenal gland stress/imbalance, and appropriate diet and exercise. The author shares that people with hypothyroidism need to limit healthy carbohydrates intake to 45-50% of their diet due to issues of the imbalance. I know that my mom has thyroid issues, and her metabolism is sluggish, she's more tired than she used to be and almost never exercises related to that, and takes some prescription from her physician for that (although it doesn't appear to be working). Plus, years ago I was tested and had issues but haven't had my Ts3 and Ts4 levels tested in a while. One thing I learned that was CRUCIAL, that I didn't know before reading this book, was about a class of naturally occurring substances, called goitrogens, which tend to interfere with thyroid hormone production. Foods that I love that include those are kale and broccoli, and spinach... which also have healthful substances in them (or the goitrogens can be inactivated by cooking such foods) so I need to be conscious of how much I consume of those foods and/or cook the foods to inactivate the substance. Another vital bit of info that I learned in this book was that one MUST exercise to combat the feeling tired all of the time, sluggish metabolism, lack of energy, and increasing weight, all of which is a catch-22 spiral. I am definitely going to be even more diligent about regular exercise. If you think you might have hypothyroidism issues, or know that you do, and want to learn more about it, get some great lifestyle and diet guidelines to help you deal with it, as well as get some really yummy recipes, than you must buy this succinct, informative book!
