It could be part of a much bigger story about the evolution of a talented young woman. Might have more impact if the author(s) were to add a preface or epilogue with factual information about overview of eating disorders and/or mental disorders in general

Just read it, you won’t regret it. It truly gives insight as to what goes on inside the mind of someone with an eating disorder. Mental health is so important, and this book is so important. Very well written and easy to read, I will read again and again and recommend to everyone I know!!
