Great story By The Readers Hub This book tells a great story, from the beginning you are thrown into the present life and past of a family that has so much tragedy from beginning to end. You'll find it hard not to become submerged in the mysteries the family hides and will feel so much empathy towards the characters that you'll think back to your life and your own relationships with family members. There are a lot of high and low points throughout the book and a lot of surprises towards the end.This book has all the characteristics that make it a great book, the author wrote a good, realistic, tragic, loving, humorous story all in one along with the elements of life that we all have to face at some point like loss, lies, heartbreak and secrets. I recommend this book and am sure that readers will enjoy this story as much as I did. It is a great debut novel for Addison L. Jones and I look forward to reading more of her works.
0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Very good debut! By fquerry Great first novel from Ms. Jones! Intriguing characters help make this an easy read. I have to admit, I really didn't like Horace, but the more I read, the more I liked him. Surprisingly, the switching between past and present worked well here....the transitions were smooth and made sense, clearly building on the characters and drawing me in. I felt the story rolled at a great pace and the descriptive writing brought the characters to life. The only thing that kept me from going 5 stars is my personal peeve of people putting themselves down, which Iris did constantly. I look forward to the next offer from this new writer.

I purchased this book about 2 months ago (on the recommendation from a friend) and have read it twice already. I can't wait for Addison Jones to write another book. I went to the publisher directly to get on their mailing list, hopefully I'll be notified of any new books from Ms. Jones. I don't usually follow any one author but I'll be watching out for her next book.
