About the Author Patricia Robinson Ph.D. is currently principal and consultant for the Mountainview Consulting Group Inc., a firm specializing in providing consultation, program implementation and training services for health care systems seeking to integrate behavioral health and primary medical services and/or develop effective methods for collecting and using clinical outcome data. Dr. Robinson obtained her Ph.D. in Psychology from Texas Womans University in 1979. Dr. Robinson worked in a student health setting at Kansas State University several years before joining the Mercer Island School District in 1981, where she served as Director of Childfind. During her employment at Mercer Island, Dr. Robinson developed school-based group treatment programs for behaviorally disabled adolescents and socially isolated elementary students. Jeff Reiter, Ph.D., ABPP. is a clinical psychologist and currently the lead psychologist for Swedish Medical Group in Seattle. At Swedish he is helping develop a new integrated primary care behavioral health service, which he previously did for HealthPoint Community Health from 2002-2015. Dr. Reiter is also on the faculty of the DBH program of ASU, which trains behavioral health providers to work in primary care, and is a consulting associate for Mountainview Consulting Group. He and Mountainview were awarded an APA Presidential Award for Innovative Practice in 2009, for their work in integration. Dr. Reiter also co-founded the first national organization dedicated to the PCBH approach to integration, and he frequently speaks to and consults with organizations that are integrating primary care.

Beachy The 1st edition was a must have and the 2nd edition is no different! It is upgraded, and instead of a CD it has an amazing collection of easily accessible online resources. The handouts are a fantastic resource for clinicians and their patients. It is one of the most important integrated care books available to date. Both authors are truly knowledgeable, which comes through in the content of this truly revolutionary book. The core competencies are an invaluable resource for primary care leaders in getting all members of the team up to speed with regards to integration.

By Amazon Customer As an early career psychologist working in primary care, Patti and Jeff’s second edition has been an invaluable resource. Not only do they provide an in-depth rationale and detail the need for behavioral health providers to be integrated in primary care, they outline core competencies for all the relevant “players” (e.g., behavioral health providers, medical providers, nurses, etc.). Lastly, the newly developed website offers a vast amount of information, handouts and measurements that will surely benefit early or established career professionals. This book is a must for any professional working within integrated, behavioral health teams.
