Although I really find that the series is really in a class of its own. Yes it has BDSM elements in it, but it is soooo much more than that. This book was really a surprise to me. I honestly went into it without reading anything about it, not even the blurb. I went into it because I loved these glimpses we got of these two in Unwound. I was beyond surprised to find that is was a story about a man coming to terms with his submissive side. That struggle to understand that it really takes a strong person to be able to give up total control, and put it in the hands of another person. I loved being in his head as he started realizing these feelings in himself. As a person who went through a similar awaking in the not so distant past, it was really great to see an author get those feelings right. Also getting to really know Ronin Black’s sister Shiori, and to see how she is just as complex and amazing as her luscious brother. This was truly a wonderful peak inside the head of a dominant woman, and great to see her portrayed realistically. Dominants whether they male or female are not always the strong ones in the relationships, they often times need to lean on their partner for strength too. The give and take is just like any relationship, but with a deeper seed of trust in my honest opinion. This book captures that beautifully. I highly recommend this book and series!!!!!!!

By Cassandra OMFG this was so good and sweet and sexy and hot, so full of love and trust and vulnerability and anxiety and doubts and fun! Shiori and Knox are the perfect match! Really, I loved how their story went and ended!And nearing the end, I had a little squealing moment. *coughs* Blacktop Cowboys series *coughs*I love Ronin, but damn that man can drive one nuts!It was definitely worth staying up reading and I've paid for it at work, but I just couldn't put it down!LOVE LOVE LOVE and thanks for another great awesome beautiful sexy panty-melting read, Lorelei!Knox has worked his ass off to be respected and trusted enough to be the second-in-command at Black Arts and step in for Ronin when he spends time with Amery in Japan. He's a big, muscled, good-looking guy with a favor for kink. At Twisted, he's respected for delivering pain like no other. But he would never hurt a woman, consent or not.Shiori is taking a timeout in the States and should assist Know while Ronin is absent. Both are stubborn and strong-headed and butt heads more often then not. What no one knows, putting on a wig and a mask and Mistress B has male submissives at her feet. Since her divorce she's build walls around herself and never had a more permanent sub.One encounter at Twisted and both find themselves in a situation where more becomes a new meaning. Knox questioning himself, Shiori offering help for the time being.This exploration is so hot, your panties will caught fire! And even in all that happens with all the doubts and fears, Knox never appears as a weaker man. You fall for this big guy from the very beginning and only fall harder. A fact even Mistress B has to accept.But it wouldn't be an awesome Lorelei James book when things wouldn't get complicated, struggles putting fire to doubts and misunderstandings leading to hurt feelings and quick reactions.The characters, the story, the feelings...from the beginning til the end it's perfect! Growing characters, growing story and it evokes so many feelings. LOVED IT!

So when I heard about Ms. James' MASTERED series, I was ecstatic to read something new from one of my GO TO authors. Now, I was a little late to the game, and started with UNRAVELED, Book 3 in the series, but it was fine because it can totally be read as a standalone for sure! After becoming so enamored with Shiori Hirano and Knox Lofgren, the amazing lead characters in UNRAVELED, I can safely say that Ms. James' can DO NO WRONG! The name Lorelei James is NOW synonymous with BDSM Romance.With UNRAVELED, this author gives us a scorching, intense love story of two people trying to figure out who they are with and without each other. It's raw, emotional, and very complex. It sets the bar for BDSM Romance for sure.Shiori is a woman so determined to bring out the submissive nature in the VERY alpha, Knox Lofgren. She feels the pull of their connection, and she will stick to her guns to make him acknowledge the submissive within. Knox is as alpha, strong, and protective as they come, so when he feels the urge to do anything to please this woman who stands before him, he is somewhat perplexed.
