About the Author Lorraine Heath siempre sono con ser escritora.

This latest book in the Lost Lords of Pembrooke series was not what I was expecting. I thought the story was monotonous and had a hard time making myself keep reading. I kept thinking it would get better. It was much the same through the rest of the book. Anne would say she couldn't keep seeing Tristan and then she would turn around and do it all over again and again. I thought both characters were very self centered and shallow. I don't believe the brothers act like they like each other much at all or ever did. Sebastian seems to care sometimes and then others he is very distant. I understand the feelings they went through when separated, but they just seem more like they can't stand one another instead of just feeling the hurt and abandonment they experienced when they were children. I think the best part of the book was at the very end. I won't give the ending away, but I must say it by far is not the best ending I have ever read. I could have done without this book but then maybe Rafe's story will be better and just maybe I needed to read this one to be able to understand something in Rafe's story. Hoping for better next time.

He's a Lord but eschews the title; he is educated but dresses almost like a ruffian and he appears insouciant yet is incredibly aware of all his surroundings. Tristan is a wanderer having been forced to sea at a young age. He is a restless soul.He meets heroine, Lady Anne in a London tavern and he is attracted to her right away. She wants him to take her to her fiancé who left her four years earlier to fight in the Crimea. He declines her offer making her angry and she storms out.Anne is determined to make her journey for many reasons and she is also determined to do things her way. Eventually Tristan agrees to transport her and they have a very interesting voyage. Anne almost bristles when she confronts Tristan and he enjoys their encounters but as the ship sails toward the Mediterranean these two drop their masks. Anne has been melancholy and guilt ridden, she needs to forgive herself and move on with her life. Tristan is scarred horribly from being separated from his brothers and losing his father, he is terrified of loving again. Both characters try very hard to keep their hearts protected but soon they find themselves irresistibly drawn to each other. Both try to dismiss their feelings yet they just can't seem to let each other go. There are moments in this story which resonate with true heartache for the past and even for the present. Anne wants a family and Tristan wants freedom, they are at odds with each other over their futures yet neither wants to forgo seeing the other. This is a passionate couple, really demonstrative and many times they support each other in difficult circumstances. This is a truly romantic and memorable tale

Initially I was confused because it seemed that Jack knew Anne from his prior time in society ... but later this didn't seem to be the case.I quite enjoyed the story, the idea of the mourning sweetheart, her desire to visit her fiancé's grave, the fact that Captain Jack gave passage for the price of a kiss. It was just that once they got back from the visit the story stalled, or became becalmed. I actually thought I was in for a quick resolution and the end of the book, but when I checked the percentage done (I'm reading on my kindle) because I wanted to finish before the end of the night I was shocked to find I was only around 50%.The rest of the novel was tooing and froing and lots of sex, as the two characters struggle to decide they can be together, but I felt there needed to be another complication, perhaps Jack being accused of piracy.I enjoyed it, just not as much as the other books.
