I read a few of them, thought they were all pretty dumb. What's with the stupid names the author gives his characters?? I finally stopped trying to enjoy this book and sent it to my "cloud" Incidentally, I have read, and realty enjoyed, all the Woods Cop mysteries with the main character Grady Service. Come on Joseph Heywood! Get back to those stories!

The Woods Cop series are some of the best books I have read and then the releases this junk. The name is misleading from his last book hard ground. I don't know if i'll waste money on this author again.

In this collection of short stories Joe has continued his quirky insight into characters of the Yoopers, including his usual kaleidoscopic naming. This series continues every bit as hard boiled as any of his earlier work and what is charming is how this is played out with all female protagonists. I don't know how to break it to ya, guys, but Joe proves himself a sensitive feminist in all of the best perceptions of the term.
